Assistant Branch Manager

Hours:

Monday thru Friday and every other Saturday

Job Description:

This individual under the direction of the Branch Manager provides a full range of banking services to the customers. Typical duties include:
  • Ability to sell bank products and services so they are advantageous to the customer and the Bank.

  • Open and input CD's, savings, checking and IRA's. Process collection items and check orders.

  • Be prepared to assist customer in deciding the best borrowing arrangement to meet their needs and process applications for real estate, time, demand and installment loans.

  • Perform teller duties as needed. Accept account transactions, receive loan payments, sell official checks, redeem series EE savings bonds and process end of day settlement.

  • Supervises teller operations; trains tellers in their duties; ensures that the teller area is adequately staffed and may assist in rating teller performance and recommending appropriate personnel action.

  • Accounts for all vault and teller cash, issues cash to tellers, and receives cash from tellers going on vacation, controls cash at teller stations to maintain level of cash adequate to meet daily needs, transfers excess cash from teller stations to vault; once each month verifies each tellers cash; orders vault cash and ships out excess cash as necessary.

  • Assist branch manager with employee performance evaluations, pursuing and the collection of delinquent loans, preparation and administration of the Branch Budget, proofing and submitting all Bank CTR’s, and updating and scanning signature cards for Bank.

Qualifications:

Five years experience in a banking environment. Operation and management experience preferred. Must possess the ability to develop positive customer relations, effectively communicate with all types of people; independently establish work priorities; be aware of all office activities in process and know the operating procedures within the bank. Must have a basic knowledge of the operation of the following equipment and software applications: Calculator, Teller software, Microsoft office including Word and Excel, and other PC applications utilized by the bank.

Job Description:

This individual under the direction of the Branch Manager provides a full range of banking services to the customers as well as duties assigned to the Teller position. Typical duties include: receiving and paying out monies; accepting bill payments; preparing settlement at the end of the work day; preparing change and currency orders. Performing this combination of duties requires that the individual use initiative, professionalism, and good judgment to maintain superior customer relations.

Qualifications:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the teller function as evidenced by one year of teller experience with competency shown in all phases of teller work.
