For You, For Your Community,
For A Lifetime
In 1962, the Comptroller of Currency granted permission to a determined
group of businessmen to organize a National Bank. In May 1964, the result of
their labor was witnessed with the opening of Aberdeen National Bank at 8 W.
Bel Air Avenue, Aberdeen, Maryland. From a modest beginning, the bank prospered
and grew from one to seven locations serving the Harford County and Cecil County communities with
assets of $203 million as of April 30, 2007. In 1980, Aberdeen National
Bank changed its name to Harford National Bank to represent the community it
serviced. Harford National Bank rechartered under the laws of the State
of Maryland to become Harford Bank effective July 2, 2001. While the Bank’s
name has changed twice since first opening its doors, our goals, mission and
commitment to serve the community remains the same. We at Harford Bank
are optimistic and excited about our future and remain committed to serving
your needs. Harford Bank is not just like a community bank, we are your community bank.
Since 1964, Harford Bank has strived to provide the community it serves with
the very best banking services and to fulfill its obligation as a responsible
corporate citizen. Directors, officers and employees of Harford Bank provide
active leadership in many civic organizations and projects including Rotary
Club, Soroptimist International, Lions Club, Boys & Girls
Club of Harford County, Harford County Public Schools, Aberdeen Economic
Development Committee, and Upper Chesapeake Health Systems.
Harford Bank continues to serve Harford and Cecil Counties through its offices in Aberdeen,
Joppatowne, Bel Air, Abingdon, Havre de Grace, and Elkton.
